Candace Kearns Read has extensive experience as a workshop leader, both in person and online. The goal of the "Shaping the True Story Into a Screenplay" workshop is to empower screenwriters who are spurred on by personal experience, or who know of a true story they'd like to tell, and help them make the leap from mere novelistic expression to true cinematic storytelling. With an encouraging and supportive approach, Candace Kearns Read guides attendees toward objectivity about their experience. She details the process of writing the screenplay in terms of cinematic story, antagonist and protagonist, beginning, middle and end, dramatic conflict and character motivations.
